The search is on for Miss Earth 2008. There will be a total of 85 beautiful candidates from different countries vying for this prestigious title. The Miss Earth beauty pageant is a competition held every year which aims to promote the preservation of the environment. Miss Earth is a pageant for a cause and is considered as the third largest beauty pageant in the world.

The Philippines hosts this year’s Miss Earth competition. Candidates are toured from the different tourist spots in the Philippines including the world famous Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park which is reputed to be the world’s longest underground river. The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park has been in the number one spot last October in the online search for the new 7 wonders of nature.

The coronation night will be held at Expo Filipino in Clark, Pampanga. Last year, Jessica Trisko of Canada was crowned as Miss Earth 2007.
