Major home video game consoles are found to have a variety of hazardous chemicals that could potentially harm users. This is according to Greenpeace International; an organization focuses on the reservation of the environment. Among the hazardous chemicals include beryllium, bromine, polyvinyl chloride and phthalates.
The test also reports a significant amount of bromine which is believed one of the causes of impaired memory functions and other human health problems. However, makers of XBox360, Wii, PS3 have reduced their usage of hazardous chemical with in their game consoles. Example is the Sony PS3 where the circuit boards are free from bromine.
The Greenpeace still believes that it is possible to make environment-friendly game console by utilizing materials free from toxic.
