Victoria City, the capital city of British Columbia has officially declared June 30 as Social Media Day to recognize the revolution of media becoming a social discussion.

One way to celebrate Social Media Day is by attending or organizing a meetup near you on June 30. There are already more than 500 meetups scheduled around the world and most of these are in the United States and Canada.

Social media are primarily web-based and mobile-based tools for sharing and discussing information. Popular examples of social media sites include blogs, wikis, photography and art sharing, video and audio sharing, social news and bookmarking sites.

The United Kingdom was adjudged grand champion in the recently concluded First Philippine International PyroMusical Competition. The competition started last February 14, 2010. The United Kingdom was represented by Jubilee Fireworks. The company has been in the Pyrotechnic industry since 1987.
