Watch out for the second Philippine International Pyromusical Competition this coming February at SM Mall of Asia, one the Philippines’ largest mall. A pyromusical is a fireworks display that is choreographed to the beat of music.

This premiere pyrotechnic event is expected to draw fireworks enthusiasts and will be participated by the most respected fireworks manufacturers in the world. The participating countries will display their skills and artistry in the field of pyrotechnic.

Last year, Jubilee Fireworks of United Kingdom won the competition followed by Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics of Australia.

Facebook Acquires Fb.com

There has been a news circulating lately that popular social networking site Facebook has acquired fb.com. And a lot of speculations were coming out after this news was revealed whether Facebook would overhaul its current messaging service or would create a dedicated e-mail account to be used by its employees. Facebook currently employs more than one thousand employees. All Facebook.com, a facebook resource site is claiming that Facebook is internally using Fb.com.

The American Farm Bureau originally owns the domain and then sold to MarkMonitor, a domain management company and a leader in brand protection. It was thought that American Farm Bureau sold the domain in undisclosed amount in September this year.

Based on the Whois record, the name servers of fb.com are pointing to facebook.com and are currently act as both the technical and administrative contact.

In August 10, 2009, Facebook acquired friendfeed.com, one stop shop for all social networking updates and news items.

For the past years, Mozilla Firefox recorded a steady growth which makes it as the second most preferred web browsers by many Internet users. Firefox enjoys 31.5% market share in September based on the StatCounter website.

Mozilla will be launching its latest version of Firefox by early next year. The new functionality includes support to HTML 5, additional adds-on and improved user interface.

The Firefox 4 Beta version is now available and features feedback add-on.

Social Networking site Facebook announced that it will pull out it chat support for Microsoft’s Internet Explorer version 6 on September 15, 2010. The company instead urged users to upgrade to a newer version of web browser.

Internet Explorer 6 was released on August 27, 2001 and is considered as one of the major revisions of Internet Explorer. IE 6 also faces security issues and lack of support to modern web standards. Facebook, the world’s leading social networking site today has recently announced that the website now reached 500 million users from around the world.

In the same development, Facebook is aiming to reach 1 billion members, matching the reach of search engine giant Google. Facebook Co-founder and CEO Mark Elliot Zuckerber is expecting that Facebook could grow to about 1 billion active users despite the stiff competition on the Internet. Mark Zuckerberg becomes the world’s youngest billionaire at age 23 according to a Forbes estimate.

Facebook was originally intended for Harvard students. Later on, it was opened to other universities and to the world.
