Netbooks became a hit when it entered into the consumer market. Netbook is a term used for small laptop computers that usually cost less than $400. Netbooks generally have small screens and keyboards and look slightly smaller compared to ordinary laptops.

Netbooks offer perfect portability and advantage for people who are always on the go. It is ideal for users who are willing to use the computer for getting online. Netbooks have no DVD drive and don’t use the fastest processor around. It only has small hard disk drive capacity enough to store photos and videos.

 

MSI Wind notebook

 

MSI and ASUS have already launched their miniature version of laptops. The Eee PC model for ASUS and for Wind for MSI usually which usually cost $269 to $699 on 2007. Computer manufacturer ASUSTek recently launched the newest model of their netbooks. The Eee PC Touch is expected to be available on the third quarter of 2009.

There are an estimated 5 million Eee PC users worldwide according to ASUSTeK. On the other hand, Dell also joined the netbooks bandwagon and came out an Inspiron 1525 model with 15-inch screen and powerful processor. The price of Dell Inspiron 1525 starts at $479.

Other big computer manufacturers namely Lenovo, Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Acer are also betting on netbooks and will release up coming models of netbooks in the coming months.

With the rise of new models of netbooks, it is expected that the demand for netbooks will even grow higher this year.
