The popular social networking site Facebook is now on its 6th year birthday since it was established on February 4, 2004. This is according to Wikipedia website. It was originally called “Thefacebook” with a website domain name thefacebook.com.

Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, together with his friends in college namely Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskovitz.

Facebook headquarter is located at Palo Alto, California and currently has more than one thousand employees.

Facebook was originally intended to be social networking sites for Harvard students. Later, users from other universities joined Facebook. And now, it seems like the whole world is getting hooked on the Facebook phenomenon.

Latest report states that many Internet users now stay longer on Facebook than in any search engines like Yahoo, MSN and Google.

Facebook is the most used social network based on monthly active users on the Internet today.
