Google Rolls Out Plus One

Google has just rolled out new feature known as +1 (it reads as plus one). This new social feature allows users to share and recommend websites with their friends. This new social feature is rumored to be Google’s version of the Facebook Like button.

Google Plus One

The Plus One looks like a small box with numerical symbol and displays next to each search result. To use this feature, a user must login and share their recommendations with contacts through their Gmail address book, Google Reader and Google Buzz contacts.

This new social feature is currently on an experimental stage and only accessible to 2% of Google’s English-language users in the United States.

The +1 (Plus One) feature is not only limited to Google search results, but will also be available on advertisements too. Google believes that advertisers will like its plus one service and advertisements will be getting the plus one button.

Google is also looking to broaden this new social service to news publishers so that they can add Plus One on the news articles.

Google Launches Android Market Website

Google launches Android Market website, an online software store developed by Google for Android devices. This move is definitely a great news for Android-based smartphone users.

The website allows users to select and download available apps and games and even install apps directly to their Android devices. It also allows users to read, send tweets and post reviews about a particular app. Most Apps are developed by third-party developers.

The Google Android market website is found at https://market.android.com and features clean and easy-to-navigate user interface. The site currently has more than 100 apps available for download.

Get Ready for the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition 2011

Watch out for the second Philippine International Pyromusical Competition this coming February at SM Mall of Asia, one the Philippines’ largest mall. A pyromusical is a fireworks display that is choreographed to the beat of music.

This premiere pyrotechnic event is expected to draw fireworks enthusiasts and will be participated by the most respected fireworks manufacturers in the world. The participating countries will display their skills and artistry in the field of pyrotechnic.

Last year, Jubilee Fireworks of United Kingdom won the competition followed by Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics of Australia.

Facebook Acquires Fb.com

There has been a news circulating lately that popular social networking site Facebook has acquired fb.com. And a lot of speculations were coming out after this news was revealed whether Facebook would overhaul its current messaging service or would create a dedicated e-mail account to be used by its employees. Facebook currently employs more than one thousand employees. All Facebook.com, a facebook resource site is claiming that Facebook is internally using Fb.com.

Whois.com record page

The American Farm Bureau originally owns the domain and then sold to MarkMonitor, a domain management company and a leader in brand protection. It was thought that American Farm Bureau sold the domain in undisclosed amount in September this year.

Based on the Whois record, the name servers of fb.com are pointing to facebook.com and are currently act as both the technical and administrative contact.

In August 10, 2009, Facebook acquired friendfeed.com, one stop shop for all social networking updates and news items.

United Kingdom Wins First Philippine International PyroMusical Competition

The United Kingdom was adjudged grand champion in the recently concluded First Philippine International PyroMusical Competition. The competition started last February 14, 2010. The United Kingdom was represented by Jubilee Fireworks. The company has been in the Pyrotechnic industry since 1987.

During the competition, Jubilee Fireworks illuminated the sky with their artistic skills in fireworks. The competition was being witnessed by thousands of spectators.

The Philippine International PyroMusical Competition is a premier pyrotechnic event in the Philippines.

World Pyro Olympics 2009 Postponed

The World Pyro Olympics is postponed due to safety issues of the current firing venue. The Executive Committee decided to stage the event on January 2010. The fireworks companies from participating countries have also agreed to move the event. The event is originally scheduled on November 21, 28, December 5, 12 and 19.

World Pyro Olympics is an annual competition of fireworks companies from all over the world.

Miss Brazil is Miss Earth 2009

Larissa Ramos of Brazil was crowned as Miss Earth 2009 vesting other 80 delegates from various countries and territories for the Miss Earth 2009 title. The coronation night was held at an eco-village in Boracay resort, Philippines. Larissa is 20 years old and a Biology student. She is the 9th Miss Earth winner since the pageant started in 2001.
