The light of international gaming industry will soon shine even brighter as the news about the new Las Vegas-style entertainment city is expected to start rising in the Philippines particularly in the city of Manila. This ambitious project has caught the attention of the biggest gaming investors in the world.The project is an initiative of Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and the construction is expected to start before the third quarter of 2008. The $10-billion Entertainment City will be located in a reclaimed land along the Manila Bay. The Bagong Nayong Pilipino Entertainment City is the biggest project undertaken by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR) is finalizing the issuance of gaming licenses both foreign and local investors who expressed plans to set up casinos and other entertainment facilities inside the 800-hectare Entertainment City. The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp already had discussions with the big names in the gaming industry like Genting International of Malaysia, Wynn Resorts Ltd., and Storm International BV to put up facilities inside the Entertainment City . Meanwhile, the SM Investments Corp., the one of the Philippines largest mall operators said that it would also participate in a $1-billion casino project.

According to the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR, the Bagong Nayong Pilipino Manila Bay Integrated City project is estimated to cost between $10 billion and $20 billion. The project is divided into three phases. The first phase of the project includes the construction of theme parks, hotels and casinos and is expected to be completed over the next two years.

The Bagong Nayong Pilipino Entertainment City is expected to become the next tourist spot in the Philippines. It is near the new and modern Manila Ocean Park and the SM Mall of Asia.

The project is expected to directly generate 250,000 jobs and will help triple foreign tourist arrivals once completed.

The Bagong Nayong Pilipino Entertainment City will showcase the hospitality and natural charm of the Philippines. The project is a combined tourism area that will offer a wide array of world class standard facilities like convention stores, modern theaters, luxury hotels, state-of-the-art sports stadiums, restaurants, shopping malls, cultural complexes and museums. Also involved in the project is the construction of an amusement parks and an Observation Tower which will soon become one of the tallest mega structures in the world.

Once completed the Bagong Nayong Pilipino Manila Bay Integrated City will be next gaming and Entertainment center in this part of Asia.
